Aden Container Handling Terminal (ACT)

Aden Container Handling Station: This station was officially opened in 1999 and is a private institution between Investment and Development Limited Yemen International; and Ports of Singapore Authority (PSA).

Aden Container Terminal is located on the northern shore of the port of Aden. The terminal handles transit goods and imported and exported containers. The station has two berths for handling containers, each berth is 350 meters long and 16 meters deep. These berths are equipped with five Regiana type bridge cranes with a capacity of 40 tons with spreaders (four of which were installed in 1999 and the fifth in 2002).. Each of these cranes can reach a distance of 48 meters from the front of the dock - the equivalent of 18 rows of containers on the ship.The container yard covers a total area of ​​35 hectares, consisting of floor bays (storage sites) of 3,312 x 20 standard containers arranged in the form of 12 squares, with each square having 46 slots in length, so that the storage capacity becomes 13,248 TEUs when the containers are stacked four containers high. In 2009, eight boxes 4 x 46 bays long were added, in addition to 4 slightly shorter boxes. The current total storage capacity is 5,328 floor bays, or 21,312 TEUs stacked high (4) containers high. .. Incubators with a lifting capacity of 40 tons (which can stack 4 containers + 1 to the top and 6 + 1 wide) were supplied in 2000 AD and are used in the yard.. A number of (30) locomotives and (65) trailers transport containers from the dock to the yards. Supported by cranes to handle full and empty containers in addition to other work. The yard accommodates (252) cooling points in a separate square. There is also a warehouse for storing shared containers with an area of 97 x 48 metres, and a warehouse for collecting goods with office space. In addition to the power station (14 MW), a wastewater treatment plant, a refrigerated container maintenance site, and maintenance and washing facilities. The station also operates a fleet of service, maintenance and emergency vehicles.
