Mualla port

The area within the boundaries of Al-Mualla Wharf was declared the free port of Aden. Customs procedures are carried out in a separate space located at the eastern end of Al-Mualla Wharf, where trucks enter and exit. The total length of Al-Moalla Quay is 750 meters, with a depth of 11 meters from ground level, providing 4 berths, each of which is 187.5 meters long. Al-Moalla Quay also has a ro-ro berth with a length of 150 meters and a depth of 7.6 metres, and an internal trade berth with a length of 250 meters and a depth of 6.7 metres. To the east of the Inland Trade Marina are the Al-Za’aem piers, 800 meters long and ranging in depth Between 1.8 - 2.7 meters. The container berths (2,1), located at the western end of the Al-Mualla terminal, are used for container handling and are currently operated by the Dubai and Aden Ports Development Company, while the other berths are operated by the Yemeni Gulf of Aden Ports Corporation. There are two large warehouses for storing goods with an area of 170 meters x 60 meters in berths (3, 4). There are also small warehouses at the back of the internal trade berths and behind the Al-Zaa’im berths. First-class dangerous goods are not handled along the Al-Ma’alla berths. They are unloaded on barges at the buoy berths for handling at the obstacle berth east of the Al-Ma’alla station.

General cargo/casting anchors:

There are two main berths at Al-Maalla station to receive bulk goods, which are (4 and 3). As for ships with a tonnage of up to 40,000 tons, a length of 190 meters and a depth of 10.4 meters, they can be anchored at the berths at Al-Maalla station when the tide is at zero level, and the available depth is up to 10.7 meters. There is also a cement factory located behind Shed No. (23) facing the internal trading dock. It receives cement and then loads it. The unloading process from the ship to the factory takes place via pipes from dock No. (4).
