Gulf of Aden Marine Company berths

Due to the importance of effective participation in achieving economic development and stimulating trade movement, in 2004, Hayel Saeed & Partners Group of Companies established the Gulf of Aden Marine Company Limited and built the Gulf of Aden Marina, which is a promenade with two berths with a total length of (303) meters and a width of (28) metres. The outer berth of the marina (Pier No. 1) was designed with a depth of (14) metres, while the inner berth, Pier No. (2), was designed with a depth of (12) metres. The group is the first commercial house to establish a private sea dock in Yemen. The dock aims to raise and increase the capacity of the Port of Aden to accommodate huge (Panamex) class ships, whose capacity reaches about (80,000) tons of general (atypical) cargo, especially wheat ships. The marina is distinguished by its distinguished strategic location, as it extends west from the Al-Mualla jetty on the southern side of the port of Aden, along the RORO jetty to the north, as well as its connection to the turning basin to the south of the container terminal, which greatly contributed to facilitating the process of entry and exit of ships, as well as the maneuvering process. The marina provides an additional berth to the port of Aden in the event that Al-Mualla berth is crowded, which helps reduce the period and cost of waiting for ships. It also works to improve the carrying capacity of the port of Aden to accommodate larger ships to increase the depth of draft. The station provides a large automatic vacuum extractor on the tongue, with a production capacity of 800 tons/hour. The company has three unloading machines, each with a capacity of 1,500 tons/day. The station can also handle other types of goods, and handling equipment and mechanisms are used by the private sector.
